The other day I was reading a blog post from one of my new blogging friends. He was talking about the phrase, "Money won't buy happiness." His argument was, that to some extent money DOES buy happiness, and I have to say that I somewhat agree with him. When my husband and I are struggling financially (which seems like a regular thing with us these days), we tend to bicker back and forth and we are always snapping at each other. But when we are financially comfortable, we are happier and can joke around with each other. I guess it is because we don't have the stress and the worry of what bills need to be paid and how we are going to pay them, and we are constantly worrying about, "Will we be able to fit that in our budget?" (Which reminds me, I could really use some budgeting software right now)
I guess what I'm trying to say is I understand the original meaning of "Money Won't Buy Happiness", because not all rich people are happy. But in "my world" when I have money, I'm pretty darn happy!
We just recently had our house painted. Below, you will see the before and after. We are very pleased with the job the painter did. This is just one step we are taking before we put our house up for sale. We will definitely need to get something bigger soon. We haven't talked to mortgage lenders yet or anything, but it's something that is definitely in our future because we really need more room with four kids and all.
Wow....we are really starting to feel the affects of summer around here. Highs have been in the 90's and will continue to rise. Yep...just something you have to accept living in the Deep South. Yeah....these are the days when there are hardly any clouds in the sky. I've never been one to wear sunglasses, but I've been thinking of trying to find some cool vintage sunglasses. Wayfarers were really cool during the '80s and I never had a chance to own any. Always wanted some though. I'm gonna go browse around the net and see what I can find!
We are planning to visit my brother (20 years my elder) and his family soon. They live out in the country and the kids are going to have a blast!. I used to love to visit them when I was little. They have a little farm complete with cows, chickens and horses. I've never been into riding horses, and I definitely wouldn't attempt to ride one now, but maybe once I lose some of my weight I might try it. Because right now I don't think there would be any saddles big enough for my huge back-end, that's for sure. LOL But I would love for the kids to experience it, that is, if they aren't afraid. My sister used to be afraid of everything and wouldn't step foot out of their house because of all the stray dogs they had running around and not to mention other animals. We'll see, it will definitely be interesting. I'll post some pics when we get back!
We had one of those antique road shows in town. Not the one that is on television, but something similar to that. Anyway, my brother had a couple of items that have been in the family, but really have no sentimental value that he decided to take to the show to see what they were worth. One was an old painting of a cypress tree encased in a very old, carved, wooden frame. Then he had a pocket watch that we really were not sure who it belonged to. After my grandfather passed away, we ended up with a lot of stuff from an old pawn shop that he used to own, so I'm pretty sure that's where it came from. Believe it or not, he ended up getting $500 for the items, which I thought was pretty cool.
I'm trying to decide if I want to keep my Vox. I've been toying with the idea of just deleting the entire thing, because I have so many other sites that I'm dealing with right now. I just don't have the time to keep this one updated. I've recently also started blog design. And I may just use this site to showcase those designs. Still not sure though. I'm also thinking of doing it as a business. That is something Steven and I have both always wanted to do...start our own business. But with health insurance and life insurance rates being so high for the both of us, he still remains with the company he currently works for. That's definitely a big thing that holds us back. And it is no secret that I've been trying to make money with my blogs, but it takes so much time to become established. So maybe the blog design will take off. We'll see....I know I'm rambling big time.
It came Friday. And last night, I decided that, all by myself, I would attempt to assemble this monstrosity with all four kids hovering about me. Let's just say....BAD IDEA!! But somehow I accomplished the never-ending task of putting together the very first piece of fitness equipment that I have ever owned in my life. Yeah...I know...that's sad, but true.
Anyway, with it put together, being that the assembly felt like a workout itself, I decided not to try it for a bit. Then later I got on and attempted to maneuver the thing. Man...I know that I'm overweight...but this was one of the hardest things I've tried to do in a long time. Also, I'm only 5 FT tall, and I think my legs may be too short. I'm gonna keep trying, but seriously, I was only able to last maybe a minute or two. I'd love some tips if anyone has any??

Having these beautiful babies you see below. Although, the whole ordeal of finding out I was pregnant, with twins, and then having them early, was a very stressful time in my life, seeing them now, I look at them and really know what it is like to be truly blessed.
Yay!! As a belated Mother's Day gift, I just ordered a Weslo Elliptical Trainer. Actually, we were waiting for our stimulus check, and it came on Saturday, we were so excited! You know...just doing our part to boost the economy. LOL
Here's
the one that I purchased. I've read some good reviews, and of course
there were a couple out there not so good, but more good than bad, so
hopefully it will work out. I've got an extended warranty, so in case
something happens to it, I'll have that to fall back on. I just figured
it would work better for me to do my workouts at home, rather than
going to a gym. Just more convenient for me. Now I'm trying to decide whether I want to try one of those natural weight loss pills. I've got an appointment coming up with my doctor, so I may discuss it with him.
Thanks! :) read more
